Principal's Message

Welcome to the Home Page of J. Irving Baylis Elementary School, where EVERYONE COUNTS! Our school is home to approximately 400 youngsters in grades kindergarten through five and many dedicated faculty and staff.

Our school family shares the belief that it is a privilege to work with children. We strive to create and sustain a safe and nurturing school environment. Through our Character Education Program; P.R.I.D.E. (Patience, Respect, Integrity, Dignity and Empathy), students are taught to recognize their talents, build on their strengths and become life-long learners.

We believe a quality education is the basis for a rewarding life. Each day, students are engaged in well-planned lessons designed to ignite the curiosity and natural wonder of elementary school children. Our experienced faculty is committed to providing a well-rounded, scholarly education for our students in literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, world language, physical education and the arts. In addition to our high quality academic programs, students have opportunities to access a broad range of enrichment activities and clubs designed to attend to their personal interests.

Here at Baylis we pride ourselves on a strong home-school connection. It is one of the cornerstones of our successful school. Parents are welcomed as partners in their child’s education. The Baylis staff works cooperatively with PTA volunteers to broaden students’ academic and social experiences. New families are encouraged to attend our monthly PTA meetings where opportunities abound to share ideas and get involved.

I would like to take this opportunity in advance to thank you for your cooperation and support as we work together to ensure that your children have a successful elementary school experience. Please take a few moments to navigate through our website to learn more about our wonderful child-centered school.

Sincerely,

Lisa M. Greiner
